The first big holiday tree lighting in this part of Palm Beach County isn't downtown this year. It's at Delray Marketplace on Saturday, November 14, at 14851 Lyons Road. Boca Raton lights its tree at Mizner Park a week later, on November 21. Delray Beach lights its 100-foot tree at Old School Square on December 1, seventeen days later.
The early tree is only part of the calendar. The same amphitheater lawn has free live music every Wednesday evening and free yoga every Wednesday morning, and both run well past the holidays. If you live in Lotus Palm, the center up Lyons Road has a weekly schedule this season, plus one Saturday that starts the holidays early.
The Wednesday lineup, through the end of the year
The Delray Marketplace Music Fest is free and open to the public. Shows run every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., October 7, 2026 through April 28, 2027. The stage is the amphitheater near Burt & Max's. Seating is your own chair or blanket.
Here are the remaining shows of 2026, as the center has posted them:
| Wednesday | Band | Billed as |
|---|---|---|
| November 11 | Whisky Six Band | South Florida's Favorite Local Country Band |
| November 18 | Retroflyte | '60s to '90s hits |
| November 25 | Dance Party 3X | Disco and R&B hits |
| December 2 | Midnight Groove | Pop rock, dance and country |
| December 9 | Cover to Cover Band | Rock n roll |
| December 16 | The Gritty Groove | Rock, dance and pop |
| December 23 | Bound to Cover | '70s classic rock |
| December 30 | To be announced |
Two of these dates fall on holiday weeks. The November 25 disco and R&B night is the evening before Thanksgiving, and Bound to Cover plays two days before Christmas. The December 30 slot was still unfilled when the schedule was last posted. The January list already names Preservation Road for January 6 and Hot Sauce Moon for January 13, so the series keeps going after New Year's.
The schedule can change. The October 7 opener, billed as Happy Daze Band, is marked canceled on the center's own page. Check the event page the afternoon of any show you plan around.
The same lawn, earlier the same day
Wednesday on Lyons Road starts in the morning. Yoga on the Green is a free weekly class at the amphitheater, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., running through May. The teacher is Kim Rose Flows, a lululemon Ambassador and Certified Yoga Teacher.
Sessions are free, but you sign up on Eventbrite, and you can pick single dates or register for the whole series. Bring your own mat.
A morning class and an evening concert on the same lawn give you two free reasons to stop by on one weekday. If your Wednesdays are flexible, you can do one or both and fit errands at the center between them.
November 14 starts the holiday season early
Holiday Happenings is a free afternoon event, Saturday, November 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. The tree lighting is set for dusk, not a fixed time. The center lists these activities:
- Visits with Santa
- Crafts
- A trackless train
- Face painting
- Performers and music
- Hot cocoa
- Cookie decorating sponsored by Publix
- Local dignitaries
The rain date is Sunday, November 15. Some of the giveaways are "while supplies last," so the cocoa and cookies may run out. If you want either, plan on arriving well before the 6 p.m. close.
Because the event ends at 6, you'll be at the center right around dinnertime with lights on and the evening open. The center's mix of restaurants and entertainment makes it easy to stay.
Where the evening goes after 6 p.m.
The Palm Beach Post's Delray Marketplace holiday guide, last updated in December 2025, listed these restaurants:
- The Agency Kitchen & Bar for contemporary American food
- Burt & Max's Bar and Grille
- Dos Amigos Tacos
- Terra Fiamma Italian
- Lucille's Bad to the Bone BBQ
For dessert, it listed Hoffman's Chocolates, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt and IT'SUGAR. The Post also notes that restaurants generally stay open later than the stores, often until 10 or 11 p.m., and later on Fridays and Saturdays.
Burt & Max's is next to the amphitheater, the closest table to the Wednesday music. On a show night you could eat on the patio within earshot of the band, or eat first and walk over with your chairs.
The center's directory has two more options for a longer night. Hooky combines a movie theater, bowling and an arcade, with IMAX screens, luxury recliners, in-theater dining, and a restaurant and bar. Yonutz, a donut and ice cream shop, is now marked "Now Open." What Now Miami first reported Yonutz as a planned tenant in July 2025. The tenant mix changes, so check the center's directory before you settle on a dinner plan.
For a family, a full evening could go like this: the tree lighting at dusk, dinner on Lyons Road, then bowling or a movie at Hooky. You never need to move the car. The Post confirms parking is free in any of the lots facing the center, and it suggests arriving early during busy holiday periods.
Three tree lightings, three kinds of night
Because Lyons Road goes first, the two downtown lightings still fall later on the calendar.
Delray Marketplace, Saturday, November 14, 3 to 6 p.m. Free, family-focused, lit at dusk, and done by dinner.
Mizner Park Amphitheater, Saturday, November 21, 6 to 10 p.m. The City of Boca Raton's Holiday Tree Lighting is free at 590 Plaza Real, with the lighting ceremony at 7:30 p.m. It starts the same hour Holiday Happenings ends, a week later, and goes four hours.
Old School Square, Tuesday, December 1, 6 to 9 p.m. Delray's 100ft Christmas Tree Lighting & Yuletide Festival is at 51 N. Swinton Ave. The tree is set to light at 7 p.m., with a holiday village and events along Atlantic Avenue. It's the only one of the three on a weeknight, and it lands the night before the December 2 Midnight Groove show back on Lyons Road.
Each lighting fits a different kind of evening. The Lyons Road event works for families with an early bedtime. Mizner Park runs late on a Saturday. Old School Square is a Tuesday night downtown. With all three on the calendar, you can also go to more than one.
